Collection #5: Absolute Power |
Shakespeare's MACBETH! |
Mastery Assessment |
This collection focuses on human ambitions and our eternal quest for power. In his speech “Why Read Shakespeare?” Michael Mack argues that if you don’t see yourself in Macbeth’s ambition, you’re either misreading the play or misreading yourself. Review the texts in this collection, including the anchor, Shakespeare’s Macbeth.” Them synthesize your ideas by writing an analysis that explains how one aspect of Macbeth’s character represents a universal human trait. |

BEFORE we read the original Macbeth in class you will be assigned to read the "No Fear" version. This is an updated version (still in play form, but modern language and lots of help). Your goal here is to understand the basic story of Macbeth--basic plot points. There will be a quiz on the events in Macbeth before we start reading as a class. Click the button to the right to access the No Fear version.
